The Scrum Master plays a crucial role in driving Agile methodologies within the organization. Acting as the primary reference for projects using Agile frameworks such as Scrum, the Scrum Master ensures that project teams fully understand and implement Agile principles. They facilitate collaboration, remove obstacles, and foster an environment of continuous improvement, ultimately maximizing project results.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Follow-up:
- Act as the delivery owner for multiple squads, ensuring alignment with Agile best practices.
- Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives.
- Schedule and track key steps in the Agile methodology to ensure project success.
- Support the Product Owner in managing the Product Backlog effectively.
- Assist teams in delivering high-quality outputs by ensuring adherence to the Definition of Done (DoD) and Sprint Backlog.
- Monitor team capacity and velocity to optimize planning and progress.
Agile Coaching and Methodology:
- Coach and challenge project teams to encourage self-organization and continuous improvement.
- Remove impediments to team effectiveness and protect teams from external distractions.
- Serve as an ambassador for Agile methodologies within the organization.
- Report on Agile implementation and adoption progress to leadership.
Risk & Issue Management:
- Identify potential risks and issues affecting Agile project delivery.
- Proactively collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Agile Expertise:
- Deep understanding of Agile principles, methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and best practices.
- Strong coaching capabilities to foster an Agile mindset across teams.
Technical Experience:
- Proficiency in Agile project tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, including automated testing and continuous integration.
- Ability to combine Agile coaching with strong delivery ownership.
- Experience working in large and complex organizations, managing multiple dependencies.
Business & Industry Experience:
- Strong expertise in Agile methodologies within complex (preferably banking) environments.
- Experience working in multi-cultural teams across different time zones.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
- Ability to foster a team-oriented, feedback-driven culture.
Language Requirements:
- Fluent in English.
- Proficiency in at least one local language.
