AISB-351 System Administrator

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled System Administrator (SAD) to join our dynamic IT team.

In this role, you will manage and maintain the organization’s ICT systems and infrastructure related to hosting services. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, and administering systems to ensure service continuity, recovery, security, and performance. Your expertise will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our systems and providing a solid technological foundation for our needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve system-related issues quickly to minimize service disruption.
• Install, configure, and upgrade infrastructure software, including monitoring solutions, to meet performance and security requirements.
• Test system upgrades and patches for compatibility, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
• Strategically schedule installation work to minimize disruptions and optimize system performance.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure systems adhere to organizational procedures for integrity, security, and reliability.
• Manage and maintain the organization’s data center hardware infrastructure, including servers, enclosures, UPS, patch panels, tape libraries, and cabling.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks and support central backup systems to ensure business continuity.
• Provide proactive hardware maintenance to ensure long-term system stability and performance.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

• Data Center Infrastructure: Extensive experience with data center hardware, including servers, network equipment, power systems, and cabling.
• Operating Systems Expertise: Deep knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems (installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting).
• Virtualization Solutions: Expertise in hypervisor solutions like VMware and Hyper-V for managing server virtualization.
• Network Storage Knowledge: Strong understanding of network storage systems, including SAN/NAS and platforms like NetApp and EMC.
• Backup Solutions: In-depth knowledge of central backup solutions to ensure data recovery and business continuity.
• Advanced Troubleshooting: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues in both hardware and software environments.
• Independent Work: Ability to manage tasks independently and solve problems effectively with minimal supervision.
• Data Center Operations: Experience in racking, cabling, and connecting hardware within data centers.

Required Certifications (at least 2):

• SolarWinds Certified Professional
• MCSE/MCSA: Windows Server 2012 or higher
• Microsoft Azure Administrator
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA®) or higher
• Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 or higher
• Oracle Certified Professional Oracle Linux
• VMware Certified Professional 5 – Cloud Management and Automation (VCP5-CMA) or higher
• NetApp Certified Data Administrator
• Dell Systems Administrator (DCS-SA) / Platform Engineer (DCS-PE)
• Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS)
