Application Support Engineer
Are you an application support expert ready to tackle technical challenges in a large-scale IT environment while continuing to learn and grow?
At ABAKUS IT SOLUTIONS we are seeking a dedicated Application Support Engineer to join our team. You will assist in managing server architectures, ensuring smooth deployment and maintenance of applications, and providing third-line troubleshooting support in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Missions :
- Assist in designing, testing, and deploying server architectures for new applications and middleware.
- Analyze and challenge requirements to ensure security and manageability.
- Interface with internal (mainly IT) clients regarding your areas of expertise.
- Troubleshoot complex third-line issues and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve them.
- Handle operational tasks such as deploying and updating in-house applications on acceptance and production environments (Windows IIS & SQL based).
- Configure F5 load balancing VIPs for web applications.
- Administer and support core applications (e.g., RabbitMQ, Redis Cache) and shared technologies.
- Enforce and monitor security guidelines and standards.
- Manage monitoring, changes, and patching of the environment.
- Provide optimal 2nd/3rd level support (including liaising with Microsoft and other third parties).
- Maintain up-to-date operating and installation documentation.
- Participate in a duty role (24/7, 1 in 6 weeks).
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience in supporting applications on Linux Red Hat (application deployment, log verification, system monitoring, scripting).
- At least 10 years of recent expertise with Windows Server (2012–2019).
- Knowledge of IIS management and website deployment.
- Broad IT knowledge (networking, security, ITIL concepts).
- Proficiency in PowerShell.
- Experience with databases such as MS-SQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, NEO4J, or Redis Cache is a plus (training provided for missing knowledge).
- Understanding of firewalls and network load balancing concepts (product knowledge provided).
- A team player who can also work independently.
- Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Pragmatic and customer-focused mindset.
- Excellent presentation and documentation skills (Visio, technical writing).
- Eagerness to learn new products and technologies (with a commitment to master unfamiliar tools within a year).
- Fluent in French or Dutch (native level), able to speak and understand the other language.
- Proficient in English for documentation and meetings.
