Senior Engineer – Telecommunications & Wireless Communications
📍 Location: Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium (full-time on-site)

About the Role
Under the direction of the Principal Engineer, but with significant autonomy, the Senior Engineer will play a key role in providing technical support for acquisition and innovation projects related to mobile communications, SATCOM, and wireless infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for acquisition projects, from defining technical specifications to final acceptance.
- Contribute to scientific and technological programs, including the design, development, and execution of studies and demonstrations.
- Act as a subject matter expert in one of the following areas:
- Mobile Infrastructure: Engineering and integration of deployable and mobile communication systems.
- SATCOM: Full lifecycle support of satellite communication systems and services.
- WiCOM: Design and implementation of wireless communication infrastructure, including long-range networks and 5G on mobile platforms.
- Prepare and review technical and scientific reports, deliver briefings and presentations.
- Maintain and develop documentation and solution architectures.
- Participate in meetings and conferences with military, civilian, and industry stakeholders.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
🎓 Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electronics, telecommunications, or a related field) with at least 3 years of relevant experience, OR
- 10 years of extensive and progressive experience in a related field in the absence of a degree.
🛠 Essential Technical Skills
- Knowledge of advanced telecommunications and network technologies, including:
- IP networks, multimedia networks, Infrastructure as a Service.
- Satellite communications (ground stations, frequencies, antennas, interference analysis, etc.).
- Radiofrequency communications and wave propagation.
- Wireless communication standards and protocols (both military and commercial).
- Experience in system design, testing, and validation.
- Strong analytical skills to review and write technical documentation.
- Ability to understand operational requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies.
🎯 Preferred Skills & Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge of architectural frameworks (TOGAF, DODAF, Zachman).
- Experience with ITIL, COBIT, eTOM for service management.
- Familiarity with Federated Mission Networking (FMN) concepts.
- Experience working in international civil-military environments.
- Understanding of multinational organizations and their operational structures.
